Axsium Group Releases Retail Labor Forecasting Playbook

Toronto, ON, August 25, 2010 – Axsium Group Inc., the leading Workforce Management (WFM) consulting firm, today unveiled the Axsium Retail Forecasting Playbook. The Playbook provides retailers with the fundamental tools to tackle the complicated and often overlooked issue of successful forecasting. The Axsium Retail Forecasting Playbook will be featured as a series on Axsium’s Retail Blog and it will run over the next several months, with new featured posts every two weeks.

Based on in-depth client project exposure, industry research, and Axsium consultant experience, the Forecasting Playbook will highlight best practices to maximize the effectiveness of your existing forecasting strategy or the foundation for an effective initial approach to forecasting.

”Retailers tend to put a lot of emphasis on forecasting early in a workforce management project, think they can’t go back and make meaningful adjustments that will impact the overall approach, but just like every other part of the system it needs to be managed regularly,” said Bob Clements, senior principal, Axsium Group. “The reality is, you can create a good forecast without a good schedule, but you can’t create a good schedule without a good forecast. Our playbook will offer retailers a step-by-step guide to successful forecasting, with practical solutions and deployable methods.”

Playbook Highlights:

•Developing Solid Forecasting Strategies
•Selecting the Best Forecasting Methods
•Measuring Forecast Accuracy
•Improving Forecast Accuracy
•Identifying the Right Labor Drivers
•Properly using Special Days
•Understanding Daily Distributions
